Health care center residents get furry visit

There’s no easier way to make an ordinary day extraordinary than to include some furry friends!

Arcadia’s Health Care Center residents were visited by three dogs: Bruce, Ini, and Kii from Honolulu’s Hawaii Doggie Bakery. Niki and Joanne, the pet owners, are no stranger to visiting Arcadia’s residents: Joanne has been coming for the last 10 years!

Residents enjoyed petting the dogs and making them play tricks. Bruce, the Shiba Inu, was able to give one resident a “high-five” in exchange for a tasty doggie treat. Other tricks that delighted residents were rolling over and “speaking.”

The best part of their visit was the residents who were able to reminisce about the dogs their families owned in the past. Residents recounted their family German Shepherds, lap dogs, and even how special it felt to take their family dogs on a walk every night.

Mahalo nui loa to Niki and Joanne for sharing the aloha along with their doggie pals. We couldn’t be happier you visited, and we’re all looking forward to your return!
