Asahi Grill

Let’s eat! Arcadia At Home had their second monthly member luncheon at Asahi Grill Kaimuki. The restaurant’s local, island-style fare with bursts of Asian inspiration is its foundation. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Asahi Grill distinguishes itself with an eclectic spread of signature creations. Oxtail soup is one entrée in particular that has earned the eatery excellent reviews. They are also well known for their friendly service, treating all of their customers like family. Arcadia At Home members and employees were able to enjoy delicious food and each other’s company. All of the members had a lot of fun spending time together and look forward to the next luncheon outing!

15 Craigside Aloha Hour

15 Craigside’s July Aloha Hour had a patriotic theme! Hosted by the residents of the 4th and 8th floors, many joined in to sing patriotic songs accompanied by three ukulele players, and waved handmade flags. The veterans of 15 Craigside were honored, new residents were welcomed, and everyone enjoyed a red, white and blue trifle. The residents had a great time and look forward to next month’s Aloha Hour!

National Ice Cream Sandwich Day

August 2nd was National Ice Cream Sandwich Day and 15 Craigside celebrated with delicious treats. Residents picked up the classic dessert of vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate wafers. Ice cream sandwiches are enjoyed all around the world and they all have different names for it. In Scotland and Ireland, they’re called “sliders” and in Australia, they’re called the “giant sandwich.” How interesting!

Mahalo Chef Ryan!

Mr. Lorrin and Mrs. June Honda, Arcadia residents, expressed their gratitude to Chef Ryan Nomura. “Lorrin and I want you to know we appreciate all that you're doing and how we're impressed with your attempts to listen to and meet the needs of residents. We know that change doesn't come easily or rapidly; and, you can't please all of the people all of the time.”
