Founded by Central Union Church, Arcadia becomes the first accredited Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Hawaii in 2003. CCRCs are now also referred to as Life Plan Communities (LPC). Located in central Honolulu, Arcadia offers independent and assisted living in 250 apartments and a 91-bed licensed nursing facility.
Arcadia becomes its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation whose sole member is Central Union Church. Arcadia also purchases the fee simple interest from Punahou School in 1992.
The Arcadia Foundation subsidizes residents at Arcadia and 15 Craigside who have exhausted their financial resources. The Arcadia Foundation provides financial assistance to older adults in need, both within the Arcadia Family as well as in the larger community.
Arcadia Elder Services is a management company for the Arcadia Family of operating companies. It also manages operations for the Central Union Church Adult Day Care and Day Health Center. The center provides a nurturing and safe environment for older adults and respite for their caregivers.
Arcadia Home Health Services enables older adults to maintain their independence at home. This program provides assistance with personal care, housekeeping, and meal delivery to one’s home.
Arcadia Community Services, as the “holding company,” supports the missions of Arcadia and 15 Craigside and coordinates the efforts of our Family of Companies, including our home and community based programs.
15 Craigside opens in March 2011 as a “moderate income” LPC. Plans for the community began in 2006 on the site previously owned by the Hawaii Conference of the United Church of Christ. 15C offers independent living and assisted living in 170 apartments and a 41-bed licensed nursing facility.
Arcadia At Home is a membership program that provides guaranteed lifetime care and an array of services to older adults aging in place. Serving Aiea to Hawaii Kai, the program welcomed its first members in 2015.
In November 2020, ownership of the Arcadia Adult Day Care & Day Health Center, located at Central Union Church, is transferred to the Arcadia Family of Companies.
In November 2022, ownership and operations of Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia, located on the second floor of One Kalakaua Senior Living, is transferred to the Arcadia Family of Companies.
