Arcadia’s National Recognition for Excellence
Arcadia Family of Companies is proud to celebrate two national achievements that reflect our dedication to exceptional care for Hawaii’s kupuna. Arcadia Retirement Residence has been recognized as an Age-Friendly Health System Participant by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and has received the 2026 AHCA/NCAL Silver National Quality Award for its Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing communities. As the first community in Hawaii to begin the Age-Friendly Health System journey, Arcadia is advancing person-centered care that support the health and well-being of our kupuna. The Silver National Quality Award further recognizes the organization's excellence in quality improvement and resident experience. Together, these achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and compassionate care.
Skyline Sights and Bites
Arcadia residents enjoyed a round-trip ride on the Skyline rail system, followed by lunch at Chao, savoring contemporary Vietnamese cuisine featuring fresh local ingredients and bold flavors.
Mahalo BBQ Celebration
Following a nearly week-long shutdown to replace the range hoods in the 15 Craigside kitchen, residents and staff celebrated the reopening with a Mahalo BBQ. A special mahalo to the Arcadia kitchen team, who prepared and delivered meals throughout the project to keep things running as usual during the transition. AFC employees also joined in, grilling and serving lunch to make the barbecue a fun and well-deserved celebration for the entire community.
Good Food, Great Company
Arcadia At Home members gathered at The Pig and The Lady for lunch, enjoying favorites like the Pho 75 with oxtail and Shaking Beef. While the food was memorable, the laughter, conversation, and shared company made the afternoon truly special. After all, the best part of any meal is who you share it with.
Enjoying the Scenic Route
Arcadia Adult Day Care clients enjoyed a scenic holo holo ride from Ala Moana Beach through Waikiki, around Diamond Head, and into Kahala. Along the way, they took in Oahu’s beautiful coastal views and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon exploring the island.
Lanai Debut
Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia residents celebrated the soft opening of the new HOKA lanai with a summer party. Residents enjoyed fresh watermelon and popsicles, cooled off in the pool, and soaked up the sunshine.
Active, Engaged, Energized
Arcadia Adult Day Care clients enjoyed an energizing YMCA exercise class through their partnership with the YMCA, staying active while having fun together.
“As we celebrate International Day of Friendship on July 30, we're reminded that some of life's greatest blessings are the relationships we build along the way. Whether sharing a meal, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying a conversation, these everyday moments of kindness and connection are what make our community feel like home. May we continue to cherish the friendships that bring comfort, joy, and a true sense of belonging.” - Suzie Schulberg, President & CEO
