Spreading Holiday Cheer

During the holiday season, Arcadia Adult Day Care Center clients received Christmas presents from the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command-Pearl Harbor Second Class Petty Officer Association’s (NMRTC -PH SCPOA) Santa for Seniors gift collection. The generous donations from medical clinics at Pearl Harbor and Kaneohe Bay were organized and delivered by Hospital Corpsman (HN) Meghan Munson (top photo, right). Meghan had seen similar acts of kindness in her Florida hometown and wanted to do the same for the kupuna in her community. Gifts included blankets, socks, personal care items, puzzles, coloring books, sudoku/crossword puzzle books, and sweaters. Mahalo for your thoughtfulness, it warmed our hearts!

Scratch Kitchen

Between Christmas and New Year’s, Arcadia residents went on a lunch outing to Scratch Kitchen. The eatery’s unique menu features local and Southern-inspired items for brunch and dinner. Some of the group’s favorites were the pork adobo street tacos and the Scratch house burger.

Cocktail Hour

The latest Na Mea Ono (The Delicious Place) Cocktail Hour at 15 Craigside featured delicious pupu made by Chef Jordan Salvador and his team! Residents indulged in baked brie and cranberry, baby caprese on skewers, roast beef crostini, spanakopita, and custard tarts. To wash it all down, they enjoyed a holiday punch of Sprite with cranberry and orange juice, wine or beer!

New Year’s Celebration

Hauoli Makahiki Hou! 15 Craigside Health Care Center residents ushered in the new year with festive party hats, fun 2024 glasses, year of the dragon crafts and party poppers.

Christmas Fun

Arcadia Health Care Center residents had a blast throughout the holiday season with a variety of fun events. Residents enjoyed a Christmas tea party, cookie decorating, and a visit from Santa. Mahalo to Erin Villaver, Activities Supervisor, and the Activities team for bringing smiles and laughter to all!

Way To Go, Kaitlyn!

Congratulations Kaitlyn Van Alstine, Health Services Assistant (HSA) at Arcadia’s Health Care Center, for being the first AFC CNA scholarship recipient of 2024! Kaitlyn has been an HSA since October 2023 and was previously a CNA in Longview, WA from 2015 to 2017. She is very passionate about helping our kupuna and “finds it a privilege” to help take care of them.
