First Bloom at Hale Mea Kanu
The first orchid blooms at Hale Mea Kanu “House of Plants,” Arcadia’s new greenhouse, mark a special milestone since its official opening in late November. Mr. Bob Itoman, a dedicated “Friend of the Hale Mea Kanu,” has taken the lead in caring for the orchids, with Mrs. Julia Clark helping as part of the watering crew. The greenhouse has quickly become a focal point for residents, bringing them together to enjoy the beauty of nature. Hale Mea Kanu serves as a community hub where residents donate plants or cuttings to be refreshed and sold at periodic plant sales. It offers a space for both experienced gardeners and beginners to care for plants and share their love of gardening. As it continues to thrive, the greenhouse is becoming a key part of the community.
