Community in Full Bloom

Easter was celebrated in meaningful, festive ways throughout the Arcadia Family of Companies, with each community embracing the season in its own unique way. At 15 Craigside and Arcadia, residents gathered for heartfelt Easter services led by Reverend Dr. George Scott. It was a time of spiritual reflection and connection, honoring the spirit of renewal and hope. Afterward, residents enjoyed hot cross buns, a traditional Easter treat symbolizing peace and good fortune. Meanwhile, at Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia, residents took part in a lively Easter egg hunt, with colorful eggs and a surprise appearance by the Easter Bunny. From quiet reflection to joyful celebration, this Easter reminded us of the importance of community, connection, and tradition. Whether through worship, shared treats, or lighthearted fun, the season brought everyone together to strengthen the bonds within each community and reflect on the values that make the Arcadia Family of Companies a truly special place to call home.

Hats Off to Derby Day

In the spirit of Southern charm and timeless tradition, Arcadia residents have been busy crafting colorful hats and fascinators in preparation for the upcoming “Run for the Roses” Tea on May 3, coinciding with Kentucky Derby Day. Residents gathered with ribbons, feathers, flowers, and plenty of creativity to design one-of-a-kind headpieces worthy of Churchill Downs. The hat-making activity was not only a chance to showcase artistic flair but also an opportunity to honor one of Derby Day’s most iconic traditions: fashion! Wearing extravagant hats has been a hallmark of the Kentucky Derby since the first race in 1875, when attendees were encouraged to dress in their finest to elevate the event’s image. The tradition has grown so popular that the Derby is now considered one of the most fashionable days in American sports. Today, the tradition lives on through bold, whimsical styles that are just as much a part of the spectacle as the race itself. With tea, sweet treats, and festive flair planned for the tea party, Arcadia residents are ready to celebrate in style, hats on, spirits high!

A Taste of Kaimuki

Arcadia At Home members gathered at a beloved local gem, Hale Vietnam, a longtime favorite nestled in the heart of Kaimuki. With over 30 years of history, the restaurant has earned a loyal following for its flavorful dishes and welcoming atmosphere. From steaming bowls of savory pho to crisp papaya salad and golden imperial rolls, the spread did not disappoint. The mixed plates were another highlight, offering a delicious variety to suit every palate. With generous portions all around, most members left with takeout containers in hand, ready to enjoy a second helping at home.

Music and Aloha at HOKA

HOKA had the incredible honor of welcoming Roman De Peralta, lead singer of Kolohe Kai, as he filmed a touching scene with Ms. Taki Matsuura for his new music video, “What Aloha Means.”

The visit was made possible through a connection with Make ‘Em Smile, a local program that brings musicians to care facilities. Roman, who volunteered with the group before his rise to fame, chose HOKA to help highlight the beauty of sharing music with kupuna. He performed the song live, creating a heartfelt moment of aloha.

Eco-logical Creativity

In celebration of Earth Day, residents of Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia got creative with color during a special Tie Dye Tuesday! Embracing the spirit of sustainability and self-expression, residents transformed Arcadia Family of Companies logo shirts into vibrant, one-of-a-kind creations. Armed with gloves and bottles of dye, they chose their own color combinations and applied the dye to their shirts. It was a colorful way to honor the planet while having a little messy fun. Now they’re ready to proudly wear their creations on future logo wear days and every Tie Dye Tuesday!

Scenic Day in Waimanalo

Arcadia Adult Day Care clients enjoyed a relaxing holoholo ride to Waimanalo Beach Park. Fortunately, the skies stayed clear, allowing everyone to take in the stunning coastal views. Laughter, fresh air, and sunshine created a perfect day by the sea.
