Waiminalo Pumpkin Patch

Clients from the Arcadia Adult Day Care Center had a wonderful outing to the Waimanalo Pumpkin Patch, embracing the spirit of autumn with a day full of fun. They enjoyed a scenic hayride, searched for the perfect pumpkins, fed farm animals, and marveled at fields of vibrant sunflowers.  Clients captured the stunning scenery in photos to share with loved ones, creating cherished memories. While they missed out on the patch’s renowned iced tea, cornbread, and corn due to long lines, the day was still filled with laughter and joy. Overall, it was a delightful experience that brought smiles to everyone’s faces!

Halloween Aloha Hour

The 12th floor at 15 Craigside came alive with a festive Halloween-themed Aloha Hour this October, creating a delightful atmosphere for residents. The event featured an engaging presentation on Halloween's history, an energetic trivia game, and a special celebration for October birthdays. The 15C Line Dancers captivated attendees with their lively performance of the “Monster Mash,” while guests indulged in a delicious spread of treats, including cupcakes, macadamia nuts, brownies, and ice cream, complemented by refreshing drinks.

In addition to the Halloween festivities, Arcadia's 7th floor residents warmly welcomed new residents Roger and Jane Kobayashi, along with Takashi and Yumiko Iwamura, during the October Aloha Hour. The gathering was a true celebration, filled with excellent food, drinks, and wonderful hospitality. A special thank you goes to the Programs staff, Alyssa and Mark, and the talented Dining team for making this event truly memorable!

National Sports Day

Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia transformed into a vibrant sports arena, where staff and residents came together for a day of fun and friendly competition. Participants enjoyed a variety of activities, including shooting hoops, tossing rings and bean bags, putting golf balls, bowling, and engaging in exciting Velcro ball tosses, as well as friendly boxing matches on the Wii. The event was further enriched by the participation of our Physical Therapists, who incorporated therapy equipment into their sessions, creating an engaging and interactive experience for everyone involved. It was a fantastic opportunity for residents and staff to connect, stay active, and enjoy a spirited atmosphere filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Spooktacular Celebration

The Arcadia Adult Day Care Center celebrated Halloween with a vibrant day filled with creativity and festivities. Staff and clients got into the spirit by wearing decorative costumes, adding to the playful atmosphere. They unleased their artistic talents by crafting spooky decorations and Halloween-themed artwork. The highlight of the day was a wonderful pumpkin painting session, where each unique design reflected the joy and essence of the day. The event fostered community spirit and provided everyone with a chance to enjoy the fun and happy aspects of Halloween together.
