Arcadia Hula Halau’s Holiday Performance

The Arcadia Hula Halau, led by resident Ms. Yvonne Toma, put together a special holiday performance that blended hula with beloved Christmas classics. The dancers showcased their graceful movements and celebrated the season with songs like “12 Days of Christmas,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.” Ms. Toma’s choreography combined traditional hula with festive cheer, creating a memorable fusion of Hawaiian culture and holiday spirit. The dancers’ love for the art and the community bond were evident throughout, making the event a true celebration of Christmas.

Disney Christmas Breakfast

Mickey and Minnie Mouse made a special visit to the residents at 15 Craigside for a scrumptious pancake breakfast, which were crafted with iconic mouse ears by Chef Jordan Salvador and the Dining Services team. Several other beloved Disney characters also made surprise appearances. Everyone enjoyed this magical morning.

Christmas Party Highlights

The Arcadia At Home Christmas Party was filled with fun, laughter, and joyful spirit. Members participated in a gift exchange game called “Runaway Santa,” a variation of "Greedy Santa." Each person brought a $15 wrapped gift and drew a numbered ticket to determine the order of selection. On their turn, members unwrapped a gift for everyone to see, then could either choose a new wrapped gift or steal an unwrapped gift from someone else. Stolen gifts could not be taken again. Members sometimes ran away with the gifts they wanted, sparking lots of laughter. Popular steals included red wine and a mini Starbucks snow globe from Japan. In addition to the gift exchange, members participated in a scent game, guessing the names or fragrance notes of holiday-scented wax melts. The event also featured a delicious spread from the Arcadia kitchen and a Snowflake Christmas Present photo booth.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Santa Claus visited the 15 Craigside Health Care Center to deliver gifts to residents, with family and friends joining in the festivities. Highlights included a Hawaiian-style performance of “The 12 Days of Christmas” by residents, an elegant Christmas hula dance by Wellness Trainer Kawai Crisostomo, and a surprise appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Christmas Crafts

Throughout December, clients at Arcadia Adult Day Care embraced the holiday spirit by crafting a variety of charming Christmas artwork. They created Christmas trees, decorated festive wreaths, and made cute reindeer. These enjoyable activities provided clients with the opportunity to express their artistic talents while delighting in the holiday season together.
