Arcadia Craft Fair

This week, Arcadia residents showcased their talents at the Arcadia Craft Fair. The fair was open to all residents and employees, and all profits were donated to Arcadia funds such as the Arcadia Memorial Irrevocable Trust, Arcadia Residents Association and others. The handmade items included etchings and lithographs, baked goods, bags, clothing, knitted beanies and lei, dish scrubbers, bobbin laced medallions, plants and more. Mahalo to all the vendors, volunteers and the Programs team for organizing the event!

Stained Glass Leaf

To celebrate fall, 15 Craigside residents crafted stained glass autumn leaves using tissue paper. They can hang the leaves on their window to let the light shine through or just use it as seasonal décor!

Good Mood Foods

As part of the 15 Craigside Core Values Campaign, residents and staff learned about foods that can boost your mood. They picked up dark chocolate, nuts and yogurt with berries and granola. All three of these snacks are known to give you a little boost of happiness and energy. What great midday snacks that won’t leave you feeling tired.

808 Dialing Effective October 24

Starting Sunday, October 24, all local calls will need to dial area code 808 followed by the telephone number.

After October 24, local calls dialed with only seven digits may not be completed, and a recording will inform you that your call cannot be completed as dialed.

Start now by updating the contacts in your cell phone. Add the 808 area code to all local numbers.

HPGS Honors Emmet White

The Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society will be honoring Emmet White, retired  President and CEO of the Arcadia Family of Companies, at their 5th Annual HPGS Virtual Fundraiser on November 4th. HPGS is recognizing Mr. White for his exemplary servant leadership and service to Hawaii’s kupuna during his 23 years with the Arcadia Family of Companies.

National Train Your Brain Day

October 13th was National Train Your Brain Day! Regularly training your brain is imperative to maintaining your physical and mental health. There are many ways you can do it, such as reading, doing puzzles, playing cards or learning a new skill. Studies have shown that doing brain exercises have a myriad of benefits that include slowing cognitive decline as well as improving mental agility. To celebrate, enjoy this fun Halloween themed word search puzzle and remember to exercise your brain!
