Happy Easter!

15 Craigside Health Care Center residents celebrated Easter with an exciting egg hunt and egg coloring activity. Everyone was delighted with the festive gifts and treats including candy, stuffed animals, and keychains. The celebrations continued at the Arcadia Adult Day Care where clients created adorable Easter crafts. We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter Sunday spent with their loved ones!

Happy Retirement, Marta!

After 20 years of service to the Arcadia Family of Companies, Marta Cantrell, Licensed Social Worker, retired! We want to thank Marta for all of her hard work, dedication, compassion, and love towards providing the best care to our residents throughout the years. Her kind and humble heart will be cherished forever and she will be missed.

A Trip to Washington Place

Arcadia residents took a tour of Washington Place, best known as the home of Hawaii’s beloved Queen Lili’uokalani. This national landmark is the only official residence of the state governor in the United States that was also home to a monarch. Following the tour, residents enjoyed a yummy lunch at Café Julia.

Monarch Butterflies

15 Craigside (15C) resident, Ms. Harolyn Toma, created an extravagant monarch butterfly display to share with the community. After collecting caterpillars from her home and 15C’s crown flower plant, she watched them grow through the different stages of their evolution. Once they were ready to cocoon, they were moved into a larger display to form a chrysalis. When the beautiful butterflies emerged, they were set free!

Asahi Grill

Let’s eat! Arcadia Adult Day Care clients enjoyed a delicious lunch at Asahi Grill Kaimuki. The restaurant’s local, island-style fare with bursts of Asian inspiration is its foundation. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Asahi Grill distinguishes itself with an eclectic spread of signature creations. Oxtail soup is one entree in particular that has earned the eatery excellent reviews. They are also well known for their friendly service, treating all of their customers like family.

Holoholo Ride to the South Side

Arcadia Adult Day Care clients went on a holoholo ride to enjoy the beautiful scenery as they drove through Waikiki, Ala Moana, and Diamond Head. Diamond Head is known to Hawaiians as Leahi because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna’s dorsal fin. The mountain range is estimated to be about 400,000 to 500,000 years old!

Relaxation Station

15 Craigside Health Care Center residents love spending time at the relaxation station! The area was created for residents to do various activities including reading, coloring, puzzles, and socializing with others. It is a great space for everyone to spend their downtime. A special thank you to the Activities team for this wonderful idea and continuing to elevate the lives of our kupuna.

A Beautiful View of Jobs Peak

Arcadia Family of Companies Board Chair, Mr. Martin Zorn, captured a breathtaking photo of Jobs Peak mountain range. It is located in Alpine County, California, but is the most visible from the Carson Valley in Douglas County, Nevada. Jobs Peak stands proudly at 10,633 feet and offers hiking and backcountry skiing with a view of Lake Tahoe.
