Hawaii Theatre Tour

Arcadia residents and Arcadia At Home members visited the Hawaii Theatre. They took a tour of the historic theatre and learned about its founding, architecture, and changes it underwent through the ages, including the major restoration work in the early 1990s. At the end of the tour, attendees got up on stage to see what it’s like from a performer’s point of view.

The Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu's Chinatown is a historic gem, showcasing a rich array of performances since 1922. Its Spanish Mission-style architecture and vibrant cultural offerings make it a cherished venue in Hawaii. With its rich history, the Hawaii Theatre continues to enchant audiences, embodying the spirit of the Aloha State.

Pali Lookout

The Arcadia Adult Day Care clients went on a visit to Pali Lookout, where they enjoyed breathtaking panoramic views of Oahu's windward coast and the lush Koolau mountains. Located high above the Nuuanu Valley, this scenic overlook provides a perfect vantage point for admiring the rugged cliffs, verdant forests, and sparkling Pacific Ocean below. Everyone had a lovely time taking in the natural beauty of our island.

Aloha Hour

Arcadia residents had a great time at their monthly Aloha Hour. Hosted by the Solarium floor, everyone indulged in delicious pupu including poke, shrimp cocktail, tofu salad, and pork bao buns, along with their beverage of choice. Pianist Terry Tom stopped by and played some soothing music while residents enjoyed each others company.

Hongwanji Mission School

Hongwanji Mission School students volunteered at the Health Care Center at 15 Craigside. One resident, Mrs. Bernice Valenzona, was so appreciative of the performance that it brought tears to her eyes. Mahalo to all of the volunteers!

“June is Pride Month – a time for everyone to recognize and celebrate the importance of inclusion and diversity. In honor of this, I share a quote from John Lennon, ‘It matters not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love, or how you love. It matters only that you love.’” -Suzie Schulberg, President & CEO
