New Year Blessings

The Arcadia Family of Companies began the New Year with gratitude and renewed spirit as Reverend Dr. George Scott visited every community to offer a heartfelt New Year’s blessing. His presence brought moments of reflection, encouragement, and connection to residents and team members across the family of companies. Throughout his visits, Reverend Dr. George Scott shared messages centered on hope, unity, and compassion, offering spiritual grounding and a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and reset for the year ahead. The Arcadia Family of Companies extends sincere thanks to Reverend Dr. George Scott, AFC Chaplain, for his generosity, inspiration, and uplifting presence, which helped set a positive tone for the year to come.

A Serenade of Aloha

Arcadia was filled with the spirit of aloha when the beloved Leahi Serenaders visited. Adding to the excitement was a special appearance by Arcadia resident Ms. Lauretta Gum, a longtime friend of the group. Though not an active member, Ms. Gum is considered part of their ohana. She joined the performance with her ukulele, and together they performed a lively mix of Hawaii favorites and nostalgic classics.

A Taste of East Oahu

Arcadia At Home members gathered for a relaxed luncheon at bEASTside Kitchen, a locally owned Hawaiian Pacific fusion restaurant nestled in Niu Valley Center. Standout dishes included the savory Pastele Moco, the melt-in-your-mouth Pork Belly Bao, and the hearty Surf and Turf Omelette. With its inventive menu and welcoming atmosphere, bEASTside Kitchen proved to be a delightful place for members to unwind and enjoy local flavors.

Teeing Up for a Cause

The Shriners Children’s Polynesian Bowl Golf Classic brought the community together at the Hawaii Prince Golf Club during Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week, uniting participants in support of an important cause. The Arcadia Family of Companies was honored to sponsor this meaningful event, which supports Shriners Children’s mission of providing specialized care to children and families. Representing AFC on the course were Kurt Inouye, Arcadia Dining Services Manager; Nico Visini, AFC Facilities Technician; and Albert Torres, AFC Director of Safety and Facilities Management.

Luncheon at Dixie Grill

Arcadia residents enjoyed a flavorful luncheon at Dixie Grill BBQ & Crab Shack in Aiea. They were welcomed with the restaurant’s signature Southern-style hospitality and indulged in classic comfort dishes, including barbecue favorites and homestyle sides. It was a refreshing change of scenery filled with good food and even better company.

Hat’s the Spirit

Arcadia Adult Day Care clients arrived ready to impress, wearing an array of hats that showcased their unique tastes for National Hat Day, a celebration rooted in centuries of headwear tradition, dating back to times when hats signified social status throughout medieval communities.

Pom-pom Penguin Pals

Residents at Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia had a blast creating adorable pom-pom penguins. Using colorful yarn and googly eyes, everyone crafted their own fluffy, personality-filled creations.

““As we launch into a full and exciting 2026, remember that taking care of yourself is part of taking care of the AFC. Nourish your body, move with intention, rest when you need to. We have meaningful work ahead - and we need each other healthy, energized, and strong to bring our goals to life.” - Suzie Schulberg, President & CEO
