Celebrating Active Aging Week
15 Craigside and Arcadia celebrated Active Aging Week with a full week of festivities, fun, and community spirit! Residents came together to embrace wellness through themed activities and engaging classes that highlighted the importance of staying active– physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Both communities hosted their own Wellness Fair, featuring interactive booths that promoted healthy living and self-care. From enriching classes to lively spirit days, Active Aging Week reflected our shared commitment to living well and aging actively.
Cheers to Oktoberfest
Residents at 15 Craigside and Arcadia celebrated Oktoberfest with beer, German-inspired eats, and great company! From bratwursts and pretzels to music and laughter, the festivities brought everyone together in true Oktoberfest style. Prost to good friends and community!
Chasing Fall Colors
AFC Board Chair Martin Zorn shared this beautiful photo from a morning outing after breakfast. He took a short drive into the Eastern Sierras, exploring the Scenic Hope Valley. The landscapes are stunning and still about a week away from peak fall colors.
Honoring Wai, Honoring Keiki
Living purpose-driven lives means taking thoughtful action for what truly matters. 15 Craigside resident Reverend David Nakamoto exemplified this commitment by reading the “Pledge to Our Wai, Pledge to Our Keiki” at Honolulu Hale, honoring the 10th anniversary of the Red Hill AOC. The pledge highlights the critical importance of protecting Hawaii’s water and serves as a powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to safeguard these resources for future generations.
Celebrating Chuseok
Arcadia residents enjoyed a week of Chuseok festivities, featuring a speaker from the United Korean Association of Hawaii, a performance by Halla Huhm Dance Studio, and Korean bentos prepared by the Arcadia dining staff. Residents Mr. Jay Paik played the harmonica while Mrs. Jean Paik sang Arirang, adding a heartfelt touch to the celebration.
Fall Adventures
Clients from Arcadia Adult Day Care enjoyed a fun outing to Waimanalo Farms. They explored the farm, took plenty of photos to capture the day, picked out pumpkins, fed the animals, and savored the farm’s famous sweet team and freshly baked cornbread.
Spooktacular Tree
Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia residents got into the Halloween spirit by decorating a festive Halloween tree! Residents crafted their own ornaments– adorning the tree with pumpkins for a spooky flair. It was the perfect way to celebrate the season and share in the Halloween magic together.
