A Spooky Good Time

Halloween was full of excitement across the Arcadia Family of Companies! At 15 Craigside, residents enjoyed a festive Halloween Fair with games and prizes. In the spirit of giving, 15C residents made handmade witch-themed crafts for friends in the 15C Health Care Center, whose residents joined in by dressing up and trick-or-treating through the basement and lobby. Arcadia Adult Day Care clients made Halloween crafts, while Hale Ola Kino residents held their annual Halloween carnival. Arcadia residents also showed off their spooky style in a lively Costume Runway Show.

It was a Halloween to remember for all!

Live Long and Plant

Arcadia At Home members and Arcadia residents joined together for a mini kokedama workshop, celebrating creativity and a shared love of plants. The event was led by Live Long and Plant, a mother-daughter team dedicated to “sharing the joy of plant parenthood.”

Kokedama, a centuries-old Japanese art, means “moss ball.” Participants encased plant roots in soil and clay, wrapped them in moss, and secured them with string, creating living sculptures to display on a countertop or hang. Because all materials were biodegradable, the moss can be redone as the plant grows, placed in a pot, or planted in the ground. Owner Ellise Uyema explained that the company’s name is a plant-themed twist on Star Trek’s “Live long and prosper.”

Tsubasa Scholarship

Arcadia At Home member Marian Okada recognized Mid-Pacific Institute senior Cienna Cheung 26’ with the Tsubasa Scholarship for Excellence in Japanese Language Studies. Established in 2020, the award encourages students to soar on the “wings” (tsubasa) of their learning. Cienna, an aspiring pre-med student, is honored for her dedication.

Crafts, Bakes, and Vintage Treasures

15 Craigside’s annual Craft Fair was filled with creativity, community, and charm! Residents and staff browsed tables overflowing with handmade goods, baked treats, vintage finds, and one-of-a-kind treasures. From beautifully crafted jewelry and bags to plants and delicious treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The event was a wonderful opportunity to support resident artisans while getting a head start on holiday shopping.

Early Holiday Cheer

Although it’s only November, Arcadia resident Mrs. Anne Hedani brought some early holiday cheer with a fun craft-making event. Residents gathered to create beautiful wreaths and showcased their creativity. It was a wonderful way to kick off the season and share the joy of making something special by hand.

Sweet Outing to Waiola

Arcadia Adult Day Care clients enjoyed a refreshing outing to Waiola Shave Ice. Everyone savored

colorful, icy treats on a sunny day. It was a nice way to cool off and make sweet memories.

United Against Alzheimer’s

The Arcadia Family of Companies was proud to be Platinum Sponsor at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Magic Island. Participants came together to support those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, united in the hope of a future free from these conditions.

“This week, we’re shining a spotlight on our amazing Programs and Wellness Teams! You turn ordinary moments into meaningful memories, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit with kindness, compassion, and respect. Mahalo for enriching every life you touch!” -Suzie Schulberg, President & CEO
