Merry and Mingling
Arcadia At Home members came together for their annual Christmas party to celebrate the joy of the holiday season and the strong sense of community they share year after year. Members enjoyed a delicious meal catered by the Arcadia dining team, while the room buzzed with conversation as friends shared stories and caught up with one another. The festive atmosphere was filled with smiles, cheer, and a shared appreciation for being together. The celebration continued with fun games that sparked plenty of laughter, followed by a lively gift exchange that added an extra layer of excitement and holiday magic. Members left with full hearts and lasting memories, reminded that the connections they share and the time spent together are truly the greatest gifts of all during the holiday season.
Cocoa and Cookies Event
Residents at 15 Craigside enjoyed a cozy Cocoa and Cookies event filled with sweet treats. A variety of cookies and panettone were paired with warm hot cocoa topped with marshmallows. The event also featured a fun game where residents closed their eyes and used a spatula to scoop as many bows as possible into a bowl, sparking smiles, laughter, and friendly competition.
Sprouting Joy This Season
Arcadia’s Friends of the Greenhouse held a festive plant sale to benefit the Arcadia Memorial Irrevocable Trust (AMIT), which supports residents care at the Arcadia Health Care Center through services not covered by resident agreements. After the sale, Ms. Jo Uehara and Mrs. Jeanne Whitmire delivered plant to the Health Care Center, spreading holiday cheer.
Cheers to Mat’s Place
Mat’s Place celebrated “Christmas Vibes” this month with its signature free open bar, bringing holiday cheer to the Arcadia Dining Room. Residents enjoyed festive specials, including “Santa,” a classic red wine, along with specialty drinks inspired by Santa’s reindeer. A heartfelt mahalo to Arcadia resident Mr. Mat Sgan, creator of Mat’s Place, as he prepares for retirement. He passes the barkeep keys to Mr. Stan Sokoloski, who will keep Mat’s Place jumpin’ with mixologists Mr. Vincent Hee, Mr. John Tasato, and Mr. Kent Davis, and waitresses Mrs. Eva Kama and Mrs. Carole Iboshi.
Dancing Down Memory Lane
Residents at 15 Craigside took a trip down memory lane during Malt Shop Memories, dancing the afternoon away to their favorite classic tunes. The room buzzed with old-time hits, and even staff couldn’t resist joining in the fun! The event concluded with refreshing root beer floats, adding a sweet finish to an afternoon filled with laughter, music, and nostalgia.
A Cozy Holiday Visit
Santa visited Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia, bringing gifts and holiday cheer. Gentlemen received plush blankets, ladies got colorful scarves, and everyone took a photo with Santa to capture the memories.
Holiday Happenings
The holiday season was full of cheer at Arcadia Adult Day Care! Clients celebrated with themed spirit days, lively entertainment, and festive crafts. Gingerbread house making was a highlight, as clients created delicious masterpieces. Another highlight was the annual Jingle and Mingle, bringing everyone together to celebrate and share in the holiday spirit.
