Irish Cheer and Festive Fun
Lots of luck and laughter filled The Arcadia Family of Companies as residents and staff came together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Festivities included delicious food and beverages, hands-on crafts, and lively Irish music that brought everyone into the spirit of the holiday. Residents at Arcadia enjoyed Shamrock floats, from classic root beer to a festive twist with mint chocolate ice cream in Sprite. Clients at the Arcadia Adult Day Care got creative with shamrock-themed crafts while enjoying Irish entertainment. Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia played St. Patty’s Day Bingo, and residents at 15 Craigside savored egg rolls with housemade honey mustard dipping sauce while listening to tunes from the Little Big Band.
15 Craigside Hits a Home Run for Opening Day
Baseball came to 15 Craigside for Opening Day! Residents cheered on the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers while enjoying classic ballpark snacks like Cracker Jacks, homerun nachos, Craigside slider hot dogs, and popcorn. Resident Mr. Gene Kaneshiro even shared some of his Dodgers memorabilia, adding an extra touch of nostalgia to the game day excitement!
A Blooming Good Time
The Health Care Center at 15 Craigside was blooming with fun during their Spring Carnival! Games included Leap Frog, Kock It Down and Skee Ball, followed by hot dogs and french fries.
Inside Honolulu Hale
Arcadia residents joined Arcadia At Home members for a visit to
Honolulu Hale that included a guided tour and a Q&A session with District 5 Councilmember Scott Nishimoto. Participants shared concerns about sidewalk repairs and traffic safety in the Punahou area before the visit concluded with pastries, a tour of the back offices, and a brief meeting with City Council Chair Tommy Waters.
Bold Bites at Chao
Arcadia At Home members took the shuttle to Chao, one of Oahu’s buzziest new restaurants, and enjoyed a contemporary Vietnamese meal featuring shareable favorites such as crispy calamari, grilled eggplant, braised brisket banh mi, and ginger chicken rice, all bursting with bold, comforting flavors that live up to the restaurant’s growing reputation.
Stillness in the Wild
AFC Board Chair Martin Zorn shared a photograph he took of a Great Horned Owl, capturing the commanding presence of one of North America’s most iconic birds of prey. Instantly recognizable by their feathered “horns,” these owls are highly adaptable hunters with exceptional night vision and the ability to rotate their heads up to 270 degrees. The image reminds us of all the remarkable wildlife that exists all around us.
Hopping into Easter
Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia residents enjoyed a festive Easter celebration with cupcakes, cookies, candies, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny, who brought gifts for everyone. Staff joined the fun as well, searching for three hidden golden eggs and winning cash and prizes, making it a joyful day filled with smiles, laughter, and holiday cheer.
“Easter calls us to care for one another, to serve with love, and to lift each other up with compassion and grace. Through even the smallest acts of kindness, we shine the hope, renewal, and promise of the season into the lives of others.” - Suzie Schulberg, President & CEO
