Virtual Excursion: Manoa Chocolate Factory
Calling all sweet tooths! 15 Craigside residents didn’t have to go far, but were able to “visit” the Manoa Chocolate Factory in the comfort of the Theater. The virtual excursion included videos about the origins and vision of this local company, now based in Kailua. They even got to see the original equipment and how their craft chocolate is made. Residents ended the tour by picking up samples of three different chocolate bars, and also had the chance to put in an order for more tasty sweets. Yum!
June Snack Delivery: La Tour Cafe
Arcadia At Home members had the opportunity to indulge in French macarons from La Tour Cafe. Known for their unique array of fun flavors, members enjoyed varieties such as blueberry cheesecake, cinnamon toast crunch, fruity pebbles, birthday cake, lilikoi, matcha and more! Look at the colorful macarons that filled the box delivered to Mrs. Stephanie Sims!
Craft Time!
Every week, Arcadia’s Health Care Center residents can participate in relaxing programs in the evenings. Recently, residents used mixed media to create fun summer artwork. Mrs. Ann Hamane applies yellow tissue paper to create a cheerful sun. She also glued recycled bottle caps into the shape of flowers. What a creative way make petals!
Red, White and Blue Stars
With Independence Day right around the corner, Arcadia residents participated in a festive Make It/Take It craft session. Popsicle sticks were glued into the shape of stars and painted in patriotic red, white and blue. The stars were then strung together with ribbon. Have you seen these Fourth of July decorations on any front doors?
