A Century Strong
Arcadia resident Mrs. Sarah Moriyama recently celebrated a remarkable milestone—her 100th birthday—surrounded by family, friends, fellow residents, and dedicated staff. The celebration was filled with joy, laughter, delicious pupu, and refreshing drinks, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. A special surprise added to the occasion, courtesy of Ito En Hawaii, a company that knows exactly how to delight Mrs. Moriyama. For the past 15 years, she has savored two cans of Royal Mills Iced Cappuccino every day. To honor her dedication to this favorite treat, Ito En Hawaii generously gifted a selection of beverages to the guests, including Oi Ocha Green Tea, Aloha Maid Lemon Lime, and, of course, the beloved Royal Mills Iced Cappuccino.When asked about her secret to living such a long and vibrant life, Mrs. Moriyama shared a heartfelt response: "Happiness, loving myself, and loving what I do." Wishing Mrs. Moriyama a very Happy 100th Birthday, filled with continued health, love, and joy!
Garden in the City
A group of residents from 15 Craigside enjoyed a refreshing escape from the bustling city with an excursion to Foster Botanical Garden. As they strolled past magnificent trees dating back to the 1850s, explored the Conservatory, and wandered through the serene outdoor butterfly garden, they embraced the tranquil atmosphere and captured beautiful photos along the way.
St. Paddy's Day at Murphy's Bar & Grill
Arcadia At Home members gathered for a belated St. Paddy’s Day celebration at Murphy’s Bar & Grill, located on Nuuanu Avenue. The cozy pub, known for its Irish heritage, set the perfect scene with festive decorations and warm hospitality. Their menu featured pub food like chicken wings and nachos, along with hearty Irish comfort dishes such as Shepherd’s pie and corned beef.
Little Plum with Chef Ryan
A group of Arcadia residents enjoyed a special lunch outing at Little Plum, a Japanese-influenced restaurant nestled in Manoa Valley Marketplace. Joining them was Arcadia Chef Ryan Nomura, who guided them through a unique dining experience filled with delicious flavors and culinary insights. The meal featured thoughtfully crafted dishes that highlighted fresh ingredients and Japanese-inspired techniques, providing residents a memorable and flavorful experience. With great food and even better company, the outing was a delightful way to explore one of Honolulu’s hidden gems.
Spring Fling
Residents at 15 Craigside Health Care Center enjoyed a festive Spring Fling with carnival games, mocktails, corn dogs, and crinkle fries. Laughter, friendly competition, and great food made it a joyful way to welcome spring!
Gyotaku Lunch Outing
Arcadia Adult Day Care clients enjoyed lunch at Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant. They dined on favorites like sushi, tempura, and bento boxes. The restaurant is named after gyotaku, the traditional Japanese art of fish printing, and has earned multiple “Hawaii’s Best” awards.
Step-taculars in Action
The Step-taculars, a group of talented kupuna who dance and perform, wowed clients at Arcadia Adult Day Care with a lively dance. The energetic show, filled with music and colorful costumes, had everyone clapping and enjoying the fun. The performance highlighted the vibrant spirit of the kupuna community, with each dancer bringing unique energy and joy to the stage.
