A Day at Foster Botanical Garden
Arcadia residents and Arcadia At Home members enjoyed an outing to Foster Botanical Garden, a lush retreat in the heart of downtown Honolulu. Established in 1853, it is the oldest of Honolulu’s botanical gardens. First cultivated by Dr. William Hillebrand and later cared for by philanthropist Mary Foster, the garden was gifted to the city in 1930 to be preserved as a public park. The group wandered through themed sections like the Orchid Conservatory and Palm Garden, taking in unique tropical plants. Surrounded by towering trees, orchids, and history, residents and members found joy in the garden’s remarkable plant life while connecting with others in the Arcadia Family of Companies’ ohana.
Don Don Donki Delights
A group of Arcadia residents took a trip to Kapolei to experience Don Don Donki firsthand. For many, it was a fun and nostalgic outing that offered a taste of Japan right here on Oahu. While there’s a regular Don Quijote store conveniently located near Arcadia, the new Don Don Donki in Kapolei offers a distinctly different and exciting experience. Unlike the more traditional Don Quijote, Don Don Donki brings a stronger emphasis on Japanese culture, cuisine, and specialty items. This brightly lit, 24-hour megastore features an impressive selection of fresh seafood, premium meats, and imported Japanese snacks, beauty products, and quirky household good that can’t be found elsewhere. One of the major highlights is its full-service sushi restaurant and spacious casual dining area, where visitors can enjoy freshly prepared poke bowls, wagyu beef skewers, grilled unagi, and other Japanese street food favorites.
Blessings for our Four-Legged Friends
Reverend Dr. George Scott gathered with a few residents to bless the beloved dogs of 15 Craigside. As cherished members of the community, these dogs bring joy not only to their owners but to everyone at 15C. Reverend Dr. Scott also offered a special blessing in memory of a dog who recently passed away.
Heavenly Island Lifestyle Luncheon
Arcadia At Home members gathered for a luncheon at Heavenly Island Lifestyle, where they enjoyed fresh island-inspired cuisine crafted with locally sourced ingredients. The menu featured signature plates bursting with island flavors. From savory dishes to refreshing drinks, every detail contributed to the warm spirit of aloha that Heavenly Island Lifestyle is known for.
A Heartfelt Mother’s Day
Arcadia Adult Day Care clients were treated to a special Mother’s Day tea party. The event featured tea snacks, hot and iced teas, party favors, and cheerful decorations that set the tone for the occasion. A photo booth added fun and laughter as clients posed. The highlight of the day was a heartfelt staff performance. It was a meaningful afternoon honoring the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures of Arcadia Adult Day Care.
Buzzing with Fun
Residents at Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia celebrated World Bee Day with a fun and educational event honoring the vital role bees play in our world. They learned fascinating facts, like how bees can recognize human faces and communicate through dancing. Residents also enjoyed a honey tasting featuring a variety of flavored honey sticks. The celebration wrapped up with a screening of the animated film, Bee Movie.
