Bridging Generations: Hoopili Summer Camp

15 Craigside hosted its Third Annual Hoopili Summer Camp, bringing together residents with the children and grandchildren of 15C staff, ages 7–14, for three days of cultural exchange and intergenerational bonding. Activities included taiko drumming, hula, line and bon dancing, plantation-style games, cooking, lei making, and Ikebana. The camp concluded with a heartwarming showcase, where residents, employees, and families gathered to celebrate the special bridge between generations—and the lasting bonds formed when keiki and kupuna learn, laugh, and grow together.

Celebrating Mrs. Rachel Lee’s 104th!

Hale Ola Kino by Arcadia resident, Mrs. Rachel Lee’s love for Cantonese opera began in high school, when she once filled in for a missing actor, sparking a lifelong passion. Her deep voice led her to play many male roles and perform with the moon harp. While raising five children and working full-time, she remained active in local Chinese cultural events. Today, her legacy lives on through her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Happy 104th to the extraordinary Mrs. Rachel Lee!

Holo Holo with a View

Residents from 15 Craigside’s Health Care Center enjoyed a scenic holo holo bus ride to Kailua. The group traveled along the H-3, taking in breathtaking views before looping back through the Pali Highway. Along the way, residents admired lush landscapes, ocean vistas, and familiar landmarks. It was a refreshing change of pace and scenery.
